ABOUT US

Sustainable Initiatives International (SUSINT.org) is a charitable and research organization dedicated to poverty alleviation and the fight against spatial inequality, with a primary focus on Africa. We believe that every individual deserves the opportunity to thrive, regardless of background or geographical location, and we work to make this vision a reality through research, empowerment, and charitable services.

Our MISSION

At Sustainable Initiatives International (SUSINT.org), our mission is to alleviate poverty and reduce spatial inequality by empowering communities through research, education, and sustainable development. We believe that lasting change begins with understanding the root causes of poverty and designing solutions that are both practical and community-driven.

We pursue this mission by:

  • Conducting research to identify the underlying factors that perpetuate poverty within communities and developing strategies to address them effectively.

  • Empowering youth through training in sustainable disciplines suited to their local environments, while providing start-up financial capital to help them build self-reliant futures.

  • Supporting vulnerable groups with charitable services, including:

    • Food provision for elderly individuals living in abject poverty, especially in remote villages

    • Female educational advancement through sanitary pad distribution and special funding initiatives

    • Merit-based scholarships to institutions in Cameroon, encouraging academic excellence and equal opportunity

Through these efforts, we strive to restore hope, promote dignity, and create pathways for sustainable growth across Africa and beyond.

Our Vision

The vision of Sustainable Initiatives International (SUSINT.org) is to create a world where poverty is eradicated, communities are empowered, and every individual has the opportunity to thrive, regardless of background or geography.

We envision:

  • Empowered youth equipped with sustainable skills, resources, and opportunities to transform their communities.

  • Resilient communities capable of overcoming poverty and spatial inequality through innovation and collective action.

  • Global solidarity that bridges cultures and nations, uniting people in the fight against poverty and discrimination.

  • Sustainable futures where education, dignity, and opportunity are accessible to all.

  • Inclusive societies where equity and justice prevail, ensuring that no one is left behind.

OUR HISTORY

Sustainable Initiatives International (SUSINT.org) traces its origins to Cameroon, Africa, in 2014, when it was founded by Tah Pascar Tagwan. At the time, Tah was an undergraduate student who, despite his own challenging family and geographical background, felt compelled to give back in gratitude to God for the opportunity to pursue higher education. His early initiatives focused on providing partial tuition support to orphans and students from extremely poor families, food and financial assistance to elderly parents living in remote villages under deplorable conditions, and mentorship to young individuals who had lost hope due to difficult circumstances.

In 2016, the outbreak of conflict in the two English-speaking regions of Cameroon dramatically increased the number of people in urgent need of assistance. Although Tah worked tirelessly to expand his support, financial limitations restricted the scale of his efforts.

Recognizing the rapid growth of operations, the foundation was formally registered in 2020 under the name Emerge African Youth Empowerment Foundation, enabling external contributions, legal recognition, and more structured distribution of resources.

By 2023, Tah’s wife, along with other dedicated individuals listed on the executive board, joined the mission. Their shared experiences of hardship and resilience inspired the decision to rename the organization Sustainable Initiatives International (SUSINT.org). To enhance credibility and extend its reach to diverse communities worldwide, the organization was registered in Hong Kong, symbolizing its commitment to inclusivity and global engagement.

From 2014 through December 31, 2023, all financial and material support was provided solely by the founder, his wife, and a few family members of goodwill (Diana Njoh, Akwi Njoh, and Ambe Njoh). In January 2024, the organization began applying for external grants to meet the growing demand for assistance and to provide sustainable solutions to a wider audience—a mission that now extends beyond the founder’s personal financial capacity.
